Supportive housing and personal care homes both provide assistance for individuals with varying needs, but they differ in structure and services. Supportive housing typically offers independent living units with access to support services like case management, job training, and life skills coaching, focusing on helping residents maintain autonomy while assisting with daily challenges. In contrast, personal care homes are more similar to assisted living facilities, providing housing combined with daily personal care services, such as help with bathing, medication management, and meals, catering primarily to those who require increased assistance with daily living activities.
Patient Care
At Golden Links Lodge we have 2 Physicians who provide weekly visits to the residents. They work in conjunction with the RN’s and LPN’s to ensure optimal health of our residents. They are also available on an on call basis for any medical needs.
Our pharmacy services are provided by MediSystem. In addition to the dispensing of medication, they also provide education to staff, resident and families on all aspects of pharmacy related care.
Golden Links Lodge has two full time recreation facilitators that oversee a series of recreation programs designed to challenge, encourage and strengthen both the mind and body of our residents.
We have exercise classes, musical sing-alongs, movies, birthday parties, various crafts, games and live entertainment on a regular basis.
Hair styling services are offered, because Golden Links Lodge does not directly employ the hairstylists, residents are responsible for compensating them either directly or through their Golden Links Lodge trust account.
Business hours and contact information are posted at the hair salon.
Our rooms and common areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
All cleaning products used at Golden Links Lodge meet institutional and environmental standards. Residents and families may not bring outside cleaning products, sanitizers or air fresheners to the facilities. We make every attempt to provide a scent-reduced environment to residents, families and staff.
Clothing is laundered and delivered to the residents’ rooms on a weekly basis. Golden Links Lodge staff labels all residents’ items. Items that require special care can be dry-cleaned at the residents’ expense or be cleaned by family members at home. We are not responsible for lost clothing.
